Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded to accompany an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is an Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry shared a tweet where Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to do music just to have fun or to aid in development but instead, she must explore it. Thus, she began her own compositions. Her inspirations include famous writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her love for Bjork's style. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote were not meant to be famous for her, but instead to inspire individuals to recognize their own value and impact in this world, she began playing them on stage. The piano was her first instrument at the age of six. She began writing music when she turned nine. Her family didn't have any idea about it until she reached the age of 14. Aurora was not a goal. According to her, she simply enjoys writing songs. She believes music can make people feel more relaxed.
